DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
Environmental Engineering is a contemporary course which is offered in only four institutions in Karnataka and Vidya Vardhaka college of Engineering is one among them. It draws its curriculum from Civil Engineering and Science (Micro-biology, Chemistry and Statistics). The course is aimed at training students at UG level for suitable skilled engineering personnel required for Industries and government organizations.
The department has a team of well-qualified and experienced teaching faculty. The department has well equipped laboratories like Close Circuit Fluid Mechanics Lab, Environmental Biological Lab, Analysis lab, Environmental Process Lab and Air Monitoring Laboratory.
Apart from its host of conventional equipments, the department has procured the following sophisticated instrumental facilities. UV-VIS Spectrophotometer with microprocessor based computer attachment, Wind monitoring kit with computer attachment, Reverse osmosis plant, Water softener, Electronic balance with accuracy up to 0.001gm.
For the benefit of students of the department library has been set up which has a collection of more than 150 volumes. In addition to academic activities, the department has offered consultancy services to various industries and analyzed ground water quality for Mysore City Corporation. On an average, 2-3 technical papers are communicated to reputed journals every year from this department. Further, The Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology has extended financial support for the final year students for carrying out their projects for the first two batches to the tune of nearly Rs. 40000/-.

Physical Education and Sports With a firm belief that physical fitness leads to mental fitness, the college encourages various sports and games.The Sports Council consisting of senior staff members and the captains of the College teams which organize an Annual Sports and Athletics meet as part of "VIDYUTH" which is an Inter Engineering College festival and encouraging the students to participate in various VTU Inter collegiate sports activities.
Placement & Training Center This center arranges programs on career guidance, aptitude tests, mock interviews and group discussions to assist students in chalking out a career path. The center also arranges for industrial training by providing students with exhaustive information regarding prominent industries. This has proved to be useful to students in selecting final year projects, which are industrially oriented. The center is in touch with many hardware, software companies, Mechanical and Information technology Industries for placement of potential candidates. A full-fledged placement cell is active which continuously interacts with the industries for placements.
