Hi viewers this is one of the top college affilated to anna university and also an autonomus engineering college this colleges has strict and excellent discipline. The campus of this college is very fast as that of government engineering colleges. The cut off marks for this college for the year 2010 is around 190 to 187. so through anna university you can also get seat in this college. Management seats are also available in this college. My advice is that please study master degree in this college since it has many courses of PG than UG. The placement activities of this colleges is also good and i have given you the details of companies and placed candidates name as their recruited companies.

DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering provides high quality education and discipline. The Department has a teacher student ratio of 1:10, making it possible to give individual attention to the learners and to motivate them to achieve their professional goals.

The curriculum structure of the Mechanical Engineering is designed to meet the present day requirements of industries, and all the laboratories are well equipped with modern machines.

Objective:

To produce the most competent Mechanical Engineers who can have technical knowledge and academic abilities for effective implementation, through quality education.

Department of Mechanical Engineering has been provided a gradual increase in their performance graph of last five years. They have produced many Gold Medalist and University rank holders.

The various laboratories such as CAD / CAM Lab, Steam & IC Engines, Thermal Engineering and HMT Lab, Fluid Mechanics & Machinery and Fluid Power Control Lab Strength of Materials Lab, Special Machines Lab, Metallurgy Lab, Metrology Lab, Machine Shop, Engineering practice lab, Steam lab, Instrumentation & Dynamics Lab, are equipped with sophisticated hi-tech modern instruments to cope up with the requirements of research.

Fluid Mechanics and Machinery lab equipped with the Pelton turbine, Francis turbine, Kaplan turbine, double acting reciprocating pump, submergible pump, mono block pump, and piston pump.

LIBRARY:

A library is the soul of every institution of higher learning. The pursuance of excellence is a worthy goal for any student. Easy availability of printed literature in the form of national and International journals, volumes of books and monographs create the basic necessary environment for the fulfillment of the above objective.

The main Library has a collection of above 56,760 books and 225 international / national journals. A book bank is also functioning in the library. The library has a good collection of Audio and Video cassettes on Management and Engineering subjects. The air-conditioned Library with reading room, reference room, discussion room, and a digital library is situated in a 3 storied building having 1458 sqm. Area.

The books have been classified and arranged to the Dewey Decimal Classification system. "Open Access" system in the stack room is followed. Hand books for all branches are available. Directories, Manuals, Dictionaries, Encyclopedia, Competitive examination books in GATE, MAT, Civil service etc and code books are also available. Complete set of CAD books for Mechanical, Civil and other Subjects, published by AutoDesk is available in the reference section.

Fully computerized library information system with bar coding of books, periodicals and ID cards done.

Separate section for text, Reference books, Periodicals, Journals, Back volume of journals, Discussion room, Audiovisual Education rooms are available.

The Library functions from 8 am to 8 pm on all working days, and 9.00am to 5.00pm on Sundays.

A digital library with 32 multimedia systems is available. Internet facilities are available in the digital library. All systems are connected under DELNET, ACM and IEEE. Campus wide facility is available to access over 1000 online journals including Elsevier Science Direct and IEEE online. Full text of all online journals being subscribed, can be downloaded and printing facilities are available in the Digital library. Besides, CD writing, Scanner, LCD facilities are available in the library.

4921 CDs on various subjects, including many self-study tutorials, are available in the digital library.

Besides the main library, each department has its own library. The department library has a collection of text books, reference books and journals, for their quick reference and easy accessibility of needed books.

To improve the efficiency of research works and to fulfill the user needs, a facility called, "Any Article from Any Journal", is available in the library. Under this, any article published anywhere in the world can be made available, supplied to user for their specific needs. This facility is highly used by research scholars.

BANK:

The Lakshmi Vilas Bank Ltd. is operating an extension counter with in

the campus. Students can avail the banking facilities there

WATER TREATMENT PLANT:

Our College has got its own water treatment plant which can produce 3000 litre/hour. All the hostels are provided with water treatment plants.

An Effluent Treatment Plant is also available. The water is used for agricultural purpose.

Rain Harvest facility is installed in the campus

POWER SUPPLY:

Our College has one 500 KVA, two 125 KVA and one 180 KVA Capacity Generators. These generators enable our campus have non stop power supply. All the labs and class rooms are provided with uninterrupted power supply.

CLASSROOMS:

Class rooms are well spaced and provides best facilities. It has separate tables for each inviduals.

HOSTEL:

In K.S.R.C.T hostel facilities are made with intention to make the students to feel like home. This is with the intention of providing the students with the most conducive atmosphere to pursue studies in comfort

There are three hostels, each one for UG, PG and Girl students, situated within the same campus. Nearly 2,000 students are housing in the hostels.

As KSRCT attracts students from different states of India and from other countries, all efforts are made to serve a wide variety of food to cater to their diverse tastes. Students are encouraged to workout their own menus. Monthly mess bill is calculated on dividing basis.

SPORTS:

"A sound mind in a sound body." Keeping this in mind, sports activities are encouraged inside the campus. Students are provided all facilities to participate actively in the sports and games. Coaching for the students in various games under the supervision of eminent coachers is being arranged. Vast play grounds (in 11 acres) are provided for sports activities.
