how are students taken in(quota):
They arae usually decided by central counselling board at tehend of round 1 making unnecessary confusions.
usually they have 50% for the statae of U.P. and the rest for the AIR ranked AIEEE candidates (includes other state quota which causes the confusions)

well my personal opinion is to never to choose the second year hostel.if u persist then....
The hostels are seperate for girls and boy(i hope sad ting for boys).
They are seperate for each year for both UG and PG students.
