INTRO ABOUT THE COLLEGE:
MVSR Engineering College was started in 1981 which is now located in a sprawling campus at Nadergul, RR Dist., AP. All the eligible applicants for admission into First Year shall have to qualify in the EAMCET Examination conducted by the Govt. of AP. The candidates will be admitted into this college by the Convenor at the EAMCET counselling as per merit based on EAMCET rank and marks in Intermediate examination.

FACULTY PROFILE:
Dr. P.A. Sastry joined the college as reader in Mechanical Engineering in 1987. He served as Principal during 2000-2004 and as Dean during 2005. He has been working as Principal since January 2006. His areas of interest include Robotics, Control Systems, Fluid Power and Dynamics of Machines. He is also an active consultant with industries. The following are the members of the governing council.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:
The Mechanical Engineering Department was started in the year 1981 & Production Engineering stream has been started in 2001. The Mechanical second section with an intake of 60 students is sanctioned in the place of Production in 2008. ME (CAD / CAM) in 2007. The department has spacious laboratories with state- of- the- art equipment. The equipment in each laboratory is continuously upgraded and supplemented to more than meet the curricular norms.
AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING:
Mechanical Engineering department was started in the year 1981 with an intake of 60. Production stream has been started in 2001 and has a current intake of 60. AICTE has approved the postgraduate course of M.E. (Production) with intake of 18. The course is expected to start during the year 2004. Over the years, the department has firmly established with well qualified and committed faculty and supporting staff.
The BE (Mechanical) program is accredited by NBA in 2002.

The laboratories are well equipped and continuously upgraded with modern equipment. The laboratories are spacious covering over 25,000 sft.

Thermal labs have various types of Petrol and Diesel engines and heat transfer test rigs.

Production laboratories have large number of machine tools including turret lathe and cylindrical grinding machine, measuring instruments, presses, and different types of welding units. Metallurgy lab is well furnished with surface finishing machines, furnaces, and microscopes including an image capture system.
Hydraulic machines include Kaplan, Pelton and Francis turbines and various pumps.
The CAD/CAM facility has computer lab with 27 latest systems and a CNC lathe. Major software used for student instruction is ANSYS 8.1, CATIA, AutoCAD 2002, AutoCAD 2004 and Autodesk Inventor Series 7.0.

The college has displayed 9,333 number of textbooks and related reference books required for the semester courses for all engineering disciplines for consulting within the reference section. These books are not issued to the readers for borrowing. It is maintained by well - versed and fully qualified staff. Bulk of primary source literature appears in the form of periodicals. The periodicals articles are the means of communication for the exchange of Scientific and Technical. Information contains in periodicals is almost invariably more up to date than that appearing in books
HOSTEL:
MVSR Engineering College does not have a Hostel of its own. However a private Boys Hostel Sri Sai Sadan Boys Hostel runs by the management member (Sri. M.V. Vasudeva Rao. Jt. Secretary Contact. No- 9703017679) is 5 minute walk from the College. This Hostel is exclusive for the Boys of this College.
PLACEMENT:
The college Placement and Career Guidance Cell was established in the year 1997 with Mr. J. Prasanna Kumar, Head, CSE officiating as Placement Officer. The Cell was helpful in the placement of hundreds of students in many prestigious companies in the country. Mr. M.V. Srinvasa Rao, Asst.Prof. CED is the Asst. Placement & training Officer. Faculty members from each department are co-opted as members of the Placement Cell.
The following activities are taken by the placement cell.
· Creating a database of all students with information starting from 10th class onwards to the present
· Organising training programmes and Guest Lectures on Personality development by eminent personalities from industry and academecia which are aimed at developing soft skills and career planning.
· Regular interaction with firms and inviting them to the campus for placements.
· To receive the requirement norms of interested firms and shortlisting of candidates to suit the needs.
· Provide a platform to firms for conducting the written tests, interviews etc at college campus.
· Regular interaction with alumni and incorporating valuable suggestions received
