Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) is an Institute of National Importance. It was formerly known as Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT), which was India's one of the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges. The institute has been named after the great scholar, educationist and the first education Minister of Govt. of India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The Govt. of India and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh jointly sponsored the Institute in 1960 to attract bright young students from across the country. Presently, along with about 200 faculties and 4000 students, the institute is successfully meeting the objective of producing skilled manpower of the highest quality to cope up with challenges of ever evolving industrial needs of the country. It develops young technologies on year-to-year basis to contribute to the industries through improved academic performance. The old Students Activity Center (SAC) has been renovated and is now known as Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Auditorium. It has a capacity of around 800 people and is accompanied by a fantastic Hi-Tech sound system. It is fully air-conditioned and has witnessed performances from various renowned artists from within and outside the campus.

COMPUTER SCIENCE ENGINEERING:
All social activities today are going for computers right from calculations, records, travel booking, medicine, etc., mainly because of fast and error free operations. This calls for a thorough understanding of concepts and transforming these ideas to computer for processing. This is addressed in algorithm and programming languages. A student who learns the development of software in various areas like manufacturing, education, management and remote control, with thorough technical knowledge in computer network is in great demand by MNC’s including banking and finance sectors. There are unlimited opportunities for jobs. The skills expected are thorough logical thinking and a good competence in mathematics. Subjects on algorithms, Operating System,. Programming languages, Database Management System, Computer graphics, Computer network and artificial intelligence are studied as a part of the course.
ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING:
Electrical power is an integral part of modern life. It is impossible to visualize the world without electricity. There has been rapid advancement in generation, transmission and distribution technologies, opening up new frontiers. The degree of sophistication of control technology has reached a stage where an intricate knowledge of programming, hardware and mathematical analysis is mandatory. This makes field of E & E very attractive and interesting. Subjects on Network theory, Control systems, protection and power systems give the basic exposure to electrical fundamentals, Whereas, analogue and digital circuits, microprocessor, Digital Signal Processing, advanced programming languages makes attractive blend of electrical and electronics, thereby, creating excellent placement opportunities in very sectors. The students of this branch are placed in electrical and electronics related organizations and software companies.
ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING:
Every facet of life today is impacted by electronics in one way or other. Either it is computers (Hardware) or communication (Multimedia) or a control, electronics is the link. The exciting world of electronics needs very good mathematical background and also an analytical mind. The opportunities in electronic field are countless; Application developers, system engineers, integrators and information technology. Infotainment enthralls the common man. Mobile telephony has shrunk the world. Hazardous situations can be handled safely with electronics with robots for disposing bombs, handling the wastes and precision operations. Subjects on digital systems, digital Signal processing, Fuzzy logic and neural networks, VHDL and VLSI, digital communication, embedded system, Microprocessors and micro controllers and microwaves are studied as part of the course.
