We all know about the great AMMA, and also their lovew towards the people. So we would be surely knowing about the Amirta university. Recently I collected many interesting information about the engineering college of the Amirta university. This university has three engineering college in different cities. The headquarters of the engineering college is Amirta school of engineering Coimbatore. The college has a famous name, since it provides many excellent facilities. So after collecting the information about those college now I had the chance to post the exact and correct information about that college.
To be frank here we can many NRI students studing . It is such a nice college because admissions for this college is not so easy. Amrita ranks as the 6th Best Private T-School in India as per Dataquest-IDC T-School Survey.
INTRO COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING IN COIMBATORE:
With the guidance of beloved Chancellor Amma, the first Amrita School of Engineering was started in 1994 in Coimbatore. In 2002, two additional Schools of Engineering were established in Amritapuri and Bengaluru.
All three Schools offer B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. programs in a large number of disciplines.
The Schools are accredited with the highest rating of 'A' by NAAC, the National Accreditation and Assessment Council of India. They are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The course curriculum is credit-based, and syllabus is industry- and research-oriented.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE CAMPUS:
At that time there were 120 students and 13 faculty members. Today, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has five campuses in three different states of India. There is a student population of over 12,000 and faculty strength of nearly 1500. Over 120 UG, PG and doctoral programs are offered.
When Amrita became a university in January 2003, it was the youngest group of institutions to be conferred this status. As Amrita's first campus, Coimbatore is home to the administrative headquarters of Amrita University.
Schools of Engineering and Business in addition to Departments of Social Work and Communication are located on located on this campus. Research centers include AMBE, CEN, CES and Cybersecurity. The campus has nearly 3500 students and about 600 faculty and staff members.
This sprawling 400-acre campus is often likened to an oasis in a desert. Massive tree-planting and forestation activities undertaken over the past decade have converted the once-barren land into a lush green and beautiful place.
A lot of emphasis is placed on eco-friendly and conservation practices. Waste water from the hostels and faculty and staff quarters is treated using EM; no chemicals are used in the process. Organic fertilizers are made using vermi-compost, pesticides have been avoided since the very beginning. The tranquil surroundings, away from the pollution and the bustle of city life, are home to several exotic birds, including parrots and peacocks.
About Amma
"When we study in a college striving to become a doctor, a lawyer or an engineer -- this is education for a living. Education for life requires understanding of the world; our minds, our emotions and ourselves.
The real goal of education is not to create people who only understand the language of machines. The main purpose of education must be to import a culture of the hearts -- a culture based on spiritual values."

Presently, the Department offers B.Tech programme in Aerospace Engineering.
The prescribed courses of study and syllabi, cover areas like, design, structures, propulsion, aerodynamics and systems. The department is headed by an eminent professor, Dr. J. Chandrasekhar, having more than 35 years of experience in the department of Aerospace engineering at IIT-Bombay.
The onerous task of setting up state-of-the-art laboratories in various fields of study, has become doubly challenging for the Department, which is in its early stages of inception. But, based on its vast research and teaching experience (from reputed institutions in India and abroad), the faculty of the department, has taken up the challenge.
The laboratories and workshops, detailed in the curriculum, have been framed to take up the challenges in Industry and focus themselves on research and development.
The recent purchase of a MiG-23 aircraft from the Indian Air Force is also intended for providing students a greater insight into flight mechanisms. This department also setting up a low speed (up to 50m/s) wind tunnel (2' x 2' - test section) for aerodynamic studies.
A highly sophisticated CAD/CAM Centre has been set up in the School of Engineering to encourage students interested in developing their software and programming skills. The student has access to the latest versions of many analysis and design packages.
Tie-ups with the pioneering institutions like National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), Indian Space Research Organizations (ISRO) etc., have served as eye-openers on the complexities of real life problems, both for the students and faculty members.
Indian Navy Allocates Kamov-25 Helicopter for Study
“We acquired this purely for educational purposes,” stated Dr. V. Sivakumar, Associate Professor at the Department. With this, we will be able to demonstrate the role, function and working of various subsystems of an aircraft to students.”
“Students will gain first-hand experience by working on subsystems of a real aircraft. They will do this as part of their Aircraft Design Laboratory class.”
A Russian model named Kamov-25 aka KA-25, the helicopter can fly at a maximum speed of 220 km/hr and at an altitude of 3.5 km. It has a range of 450 km, which means that it can complete a flight of that distance without having to refuel.
A typical crew aboard a KA-25 might consist of two pilots and two or three equipment operators. Since the cabin is large enough to accommodate twelve people, the craft has been extensively used for troop transport, as well.
The model was inducted in the Indian Navy in 1980. Since then, the KA-25 fleet has been used in a large number of war and peace time operations, before being grounded in mid-2009 on account of aging.
“The helicopter is powered by two 671 kW Glushenkov GTD-3F turboshafts, that are mounted side-by-side; these drive the two contra-rotating rotors,” explained Dr. Sivakumar.
“The use of folding three-blade coaxial rotors requires no tail rotor. Along with the triple tail fins, this ensures compact stowage aboard a ship.”
“The helicopter’s aerodynamically symmetrical layout, coupled with autopilot, sophisticated avionics suite and good handling qualities, enables a pilot to undertake a long-endurance combat task under any weather conditions.”
