Academic Results have been encouraging, they have fair share of University Toppers and the overall results are among the best in the University.

Our placement figures are the Best for the consecutive year.

 It is indeed heartening to see a large number of our students being picked by the Microsoft, Infosys, TCS, HSBC and other top end Corporate Houses.

 Inspite of global recession and slowdown of growth in Indian Industries our placements are already87%.

The  students continue to excel in co-curricular and extra curricular activities also, winning National Level Technical Contests like the ‘Code 4 bill’ and ‘Security Contest’ by Microsoft and walking away with most of the Prizes in Cultural Contests such as AFMC Silhouettes, Fundamentals (SID), Ethopia (Sakal) and SICSR 08.

 The  young faculty members have also done us proud by standing First in University of Pune, Post Graduate Exams as also by being invited for Paper Presentations at International Seminars abroad.

 After having obtained the ISO 9001 Certification and NAAC, we have now obtained Accreditation  by the NBA this year.

Infrastructure upgradation is one of their important Focus Areas and they work on the Technical upgradation of  labs is nearly complete; work in new IT Lab is underway.

 Library is another area where considerable improvement has been effected.

 It is now well stocked and over 228 Journals are available ‘On Line’.

 Broad Band connectivity is now available in all Depts and in each room in the Hostels. It must be emphasized that AIT provides educational and recreational facilities that are comparable to the best in the country.

Their  efforts have not been in vain. The all round improvement is reflected by the AIT now moving up in the National Ranking of Engg Institutes of Dataquest, to be in the TOP FIFTY.

 We intend to generate greater interaction with the Industry in student projects and in various workshops and seminars.  AIT Alumni Association is also very enthusiastic in the development of AIT as a centre of excellence.

In the coming year they hope to further improve their Academic performance, Placements as also our overall National Ranking. ‘Onward to Glory’.

Department of Mechanical Engineering has been accredited  by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for the period of three years with effect from May 2007.

The Department has well qualified teaching and non - teaching staff and sufficient number of class rooms and well equipped laboratories.

 The staff comprises of one Professor, six  Assistant Professors, two Sr. Lecturer  and four   Lecturers.

The department of computer engineering is engaged in teaching the fundamentals of computer engineering as per the syllabus of University of Pune.

The first batch in the most sought after department passed out in 1998 and since then the department is striving to achieve the motto of the institute ONWARD TO GLORY.

Department has accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for 3yrs.

 The department is equipped with well established state of the art labs and modern facilities.

The department has five labs equipped with state of the art computing facilities to support the teaching activities.

A new Central Software Lab with 60 IBM P-IV@1.8 GHz, 512K Cache, 256MB RAM, 38GB HDD Computer Systems is setup in the department.

The department is currently headed by Prof Sunil R Dhore. It has a team of 13 teaching faculty.

All the labs in the department are networked through a state of the art backbone fibre connectivity.

The Department OF Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering came into existence in 1994. It has strong administration, infrastructure and dedicated team of Faculty.

The department is keeping pace with the fast changing technology of electronics and communication in terms of its teaching program and laboratory activities.

 In addition to core electronic subjects, software based subjects are also included in the syllabus which makes this course suitable for core electronics and many IT industries.

The academic team has two Assistant Professors, four Senior Lecturers, one Lecturer (Selection Grade) and five Lecturers.

National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accreditated Electronics & Telecommunication department in   2006-07 for 3 years.

The department has well equipped labs with many sophisticated equipment such as HP Spectrum Analyzer, Tektronix FFT cum DSO, L&T Logic Analyzer etc.

To cater for computing requirement, department has networked computer lab with IBM Think Centre PIV PCs, a Higher End Server with Intel Xeon Processor.

 There are seven labs in the department as listed below:

The Intake in Electronics & Telecommunication Branch has increased to 120 seats from the academic year 2010-11.

Department of Information Technology was established in 2001 with an intake capacity of 60 students.

Information Technology, which is a continuously evolving field, demands committed professionals to perform their best.

 Considering the scope for a successful professional career, the department provides world class Network Infrastructure, modernized classrooms equipped with LCD projectors, powerful Pentium4 computers equipped laboratories and all the latest software and tools.

An ultra modern lecture halls equipped with video projection systems and computer caters for conventional as well as e-learning needs of the student.

The department has a well established LAN of 60 IBM machines in Software LAB I & II and 35 Lenovo machines in Software Lab III.

The ambience and the ergonomic design of the labs enhance students' appetite for acquiring programming skills.

Organizing  Intercollegiate technical festival  in all four branches, comprising of :  paper presentation,  project competition & creative technical skills presentation.

Organizing eminent persons lectures from Industry & Academia.

 Organizing annual cultural festival  in Institute to provide platform to the students to show their talents & skills in all arts through inter-branch competition.         

Participating in cultural events organized by other Institutes.

 Institute has its own instruments & students desirous of learning them can use it. It also supports all cultural activities in  the Institute.

Organizing annual sports events of inter-branch competition in Institute to provide students an environment which balances their physical & mental growth.

It includes single & team events. Institute has Gymkhana, Two Basket Ball, Two Volleyball & One Squash Court, and Football & Cricket Play Ground.

Participating in sports events organized by other Institutes.

Even spiritual ,maths club ,open source soft ware activity centre ,magazine club ,robotics club, astronomy club are found to be in action.

AIT has a well stocked library housing 17713 Books, 5441 titles and  65 National and International Journals.

The state-of-art reading room can accommodate 100 students at one time.

 A large no. of reference books on variety of subjects are also available.

It has a digital section having Audio/Video CDs and CBTs.

 This section also provides access to IEEE journals, Proceedings and ASME journals.

 Library data is fully computerized. Also OPAC search and reissue transactions are made available on Intranet.

AIT is a fully residential college.Presently there are 3 hostels within the Campus, two for boys and one for girls.There is a mix of triplet,twin sharing or single rooms in each hostel.

Each hostel has its own TV room and gymnasium.

The hostels are equipped with modern amenities like solar heating plant and refrigerator and a gymnasium.

All students can have internet connection in their room.

Each hostel has a mess of its own.Menu is full of variety catering to tastes of all regions. The kitchen and dinning hall are fully equipped with modern gadgets/ appliances.Messing is compulsory except on holidays/weekends.

A Cyber cafe with 2MB link has been established in the academic block to provide Internet and e-mail facilities to AIT students during or beyond college timings

CAFETERIA:

In addition to hostel messes, two cafeteria are there within the campus. One is in the shopping complex near the boys hostel.Another one is an open-air cafeteria next to the academic block.Menu includes North and South Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisine at reasonable rates.

A shopping complex exists within the campus to cater for day to day requirements of the inmates.Stationary,food,general stores,cafeteria and bank form part of this complex.

An incampus MI room with nursing assistant takes care of minor medical needs of the students.However,for all kinds of medical aid students are taken to MI room BEG and MH Kirkee.

To set up the Training Infrastructure for conducting value added training programs and enhance the employability of students

To institute the best practices in conducting and co-ordinating the campus placement process for the industries in the institution

To acquire the services of competent training agencies to train the students in soft skills and personality development programme.
