AISSMS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING was started with a vision of providing a better foothold for the students of today to face the challenges.

College has number of very high-end analytical, computational and experimental facilities at the disposal of students.
Core and interdisciplinary research is carried out in the identified forefront areas in the respective Departments and inter-disciplinary research centers (IRC) in Construction Materials, Entrepreneurship Development, Environmental Engineering, Mechatronics and Sustainable Development.
College has number of research projects sponsored by ASHRAE, University of Pune, Institution of Engineers (India) and the industries.
College subscribes to research journals through AICTE-INDEST and SCIENCE-DIRECT schemes.
The College has signed memoranda of understanding (MOU) with several prominent industrial organisations to promote joint research, training, consultancy and extension programs.

DEPARTMENTS AVAILABLE:
The College is affiliated to the University of Pune and offers AICTE approved eight UG courses and four PG courses, leading to the award of the Degree of Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Master of Engineering (ME), respectively.
DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING :(INTAKE 60)
The course leading to a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering was started in the year 1992.
The Department presently has highly qualified and experienced staff on its roll.
The activities of the Department are conducted, besides teaching, in the areas of research, consulting, training, alumni and placement.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in electrical engineering

The Department also has a departmental library, computer center and seminar halls.
WATT 2009 looks at development in electronics and communication engineering including research currently being conducted by students and future professionals . This overwhelming response to the symposium indicates the thirst for knowledge in our students from all over the country.
They conduct technical paper competition ,poster competition ,technical quiz,project exhibition etc.
DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING SCIENCES:
The Department of Engineering Sciences conducts courses on subjects like Applied Science ( I & II), Engineering Mathematics ( I, II & III), Discrete Structure and Graph theory, Chemistry ( I & II) as a part of the Engineering syllabi of the University of Pune.

DEPARTMENT OF PRODUCTION ENGINEERING: ( INTAKE 60 )
The courses to a bachelor's degree in Production Engineering (Sandwich) was started in year 1994. The sandwich pattern includes two semester of industrial training.
The Department presently has highly qualified and experienced staff on its roll.

SOME NEW INITIATIVE OF C.I.T.P:
Pre - Placement Training
Students are given Pre- Placement training to improve their skills in English communication, Group discussion and Personal interview.
Training package has been developed for imparting English communication kill.
It is proposed to develop a language laboratory for English language conversation practice. This will enable the students to practice listening & learning using the laboratory.
National Level Aptitude Test for our students was conducted by National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT)
Campus Placement :
Number of students placed in campus is steadily growing year by year.
In year 2006-07 CITP has achieved 85 % placement .
This is against 60% placement in Year 2005-06.
In the recruitment drive conducted by the center, 12 companies have newly joined.
Some of them are Infosys, Wipro, I-Flex, Demag Cranes, Thermax. Average salary earned by the students has also increased.
The training and placement cell operates year round to facilitate contacts between companies and graduates .
This may include advice on placement procedures help with preparation of applications and resumes and practise for interviews.
The main aim is to ensure that students have the information and skills necessary for an effective job search.
The off – campus recruiting give students increased access to a broad range of emplyers and to accommodate employers who are unable to participate in our on-campus recruitment.

The library is well-equipped and managed by experienced staff. It houses 20999 books and 120 periodical,national and international.In addition to this, 169 international e-journals have been made available by the AICTE, with full downloading facility.

It has computerized data access system.
The library is spread over 680 sq.m area, with an overall investment of about Rs. 50 lakhs.
Library also has membership of other libraries of reputed organizations like IT, HCL, ARAI, HAL, BCL, etc for the benefit of staff and students.
