This colleges was started in the year 1999 and their motive was to promote higher educations to women, men etc. This college provides seats to CET passed peoples with some higher cut off . As you are aware, the AMC Engineering College was initiated in 1999. Since then, the institute to improve academic standards and to streamline the entire academic process from admission to evaluation has adopted several major reforms. Among them is, restructuring of course of the B. E, M. Tech, MBA and MCA programmes, and strengthening of the postgraduate programmes. We are now working towards a fully restructured B E programme, which is comparable in content with those of most advanced engineering institutes in India and abroad. We have also introduced continuous student evaluation system and are working on a course feedback system by the students. Department of ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION

This department has special features over here with excellent coaching and also placement is good. But local banglore companies are coming for placement not the multinational companies.

Electronics & Communication Engineering lays greater emphasis on deep understanding of fundamental principles and state of art knowledge of electronic networks and devices, electromagnetic field theory, computer fundamentals, electrical energy converters and electrical energy distribution systems etc.

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has seen a significant growth over the last few years, especially because of the rapid advances in Electronics, Communications and Computer Engineering. The Department today caters for 90 UG students in Electronic & Communication Engineering with electives in Computers, Communication, Electronic Switching, Fault-tolerant computing, Digital signal processing & Optical Communication.

The M.E. Programs in Electronics and Communication specialize in communication systems. Project and industrial training is an integral part of the curriculum and are carried out in frontal areas of Technology.

Department of MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:

The department of Mechanical Engineering strives to train students in the mechanical engineering science as well as application of these scientific methods to conceive, organize and carry out scientific design of engineering system.

Mechanical Engineering includes the development, design, manufacturing and maintenance of machinery. Recently, the scope of mechanical engineering has been enlarged. There has been steady progress from simple machines to more complicated and advanced ones. Today, machines with extremely intelligent functions are popular. Therefore, the present age demands mechanical engineering specialists who have the capacity of adaptability and creativity in the new technical areas and have knowledge not only in their own specialized fields but also in wide interdisciplinary fields as well.

To meet these demands, Department of Mechanical Engineering was established on the Faculty of Engineering was started in 2004 with an Intake sanction for 60 students. The department's professional programme includes a deeper study of a number of engineering sciences to which the students are introduced at the core curriculum level, experimental solution of physical problems, techniques and method of design of systems relevant to the contemporary industrial world.

The broad areas include Energy Conversion and Power Systems, Heat Transfer and Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Solids and Stress Analysis, Manufacturing Science, Industrial Engineering, Automatic Controls and Engineering Design. Laboratory experience is considered to be an important part of the mechanical engineering programme. There are course-oriented laboratories where the students do experimental work leading to a better understanding of physical situations.

Department of TELE COMMUNICATION:

This is one of the famous department over having excellent coaching and also the fast developing department in day today life. I request students to choose department since it also links with lectronics and communication engineering .

Telecommunication, Information Studies and Media is one of the fastest growing areas in modern society, offering students special opportunities for rapid career development. Telecommunication, Information Studies and Media is an interdisciplinary field with career options in video, audio, multimedia and internet production.

Computer networking, information services, e-commerce, telephone, broadcasting and cable, media research, satellite communications, advertising and telecommunication services.

Keeping in mind the great potential and demand for new communication technologies, the department aims at imparting its students with the latest knowledge in the field. To complement this the department has well stocked laboratories housing various modern equipments to enable the students to keep pace with the fast changing technology.

The four-year course gives an overview of the internal architecture of personal computers and also some of the well-known high performance-computing servers. It also gives emphasis on acquiring a good foundation of some of the most important programming languages like C, C++ etc. Students are encouraged to explore the horizon of the computer world.

Telecommunication, Information Studies and Media includes broadcasting, cable, digital media, telephony, information services, data communication and public policy, and their impact on society.

M. TECH COURSES

Post Graduate Engineering courses started in the year 2004 for the M.E. Programme prepares the students for higher level of global careers in the fields of Computer. The comprehensive course structure integrates technological and application aspects of computer science to provide the necessary skills in all the areas of computer applications and management.

A modern computer center with the latest software and continuous access to Internet provides ample opportunities to the students to learn and adapt to newer skills.

A few candidates will get working / teaching opportunities to further enhance their knowledge base.

Keeping in mind the explosive growth that has taken place in the various disciplines of software technologies, the department has applied for various M. Tech level programs in Software Technology and has obtained sanction to conduct the following Post Graduate Engineering courses from 2004.

ADMISSION

The in-take of each course is 18 students. The Management will not take any direct admissions for M Tech Courses. Students aspiring to join the courses should write PGCET (Post Graduate Common Entrance Test) conducted by VTU Belgaum. The admission notification will be published in the press in the month of July. Alternatively the details and the application for participation can be down loaded from VTU website www.vtu.ac.in

GATE candidates with valid GATE score are given preference for admission by VTU. They have to apply by obtaining the application from: however they are exempted from appearing written test.


ADMISSION:

The procedure for admission to B.E. Programmes in AMC Engineering College batch under Management quota will be as follows:

Only those candidates who have submitted the application for admission in the specified form in time and have the rank as specified by VTU and Govt. Karnataka will be considered for admission. The xerox copy of this application form has to be forwarded to 'The Chairman, Committee for Overseeing the Entrance Test, CET Cell Premises, I floor, 18th Cross, Sampige Road, Malleswaram, Bangalore - 560003.

The candidates are required to bring the following original certificates: Class Plus 2, PUC or Intermediate certificate (indicating the date of birth), provisional certificate, score card of the Qualifying Examination like CET, COMED - K or AIEEE along with one set of attested Xerox copies.

The candidates will be counselled one by one according to the Rank in CET, COMED - K or AIEEE from amongst those seek admission. They will be informed of the branch offered to them as per their preference indicated by them in application form and their Rank in CET, COMED - K or AIEEE and asked to present the documents. After verification, the originals and Xerox copies will be retained and an admission slip issued. The candidate must pay the fees immediately.

If the candidate does not report for admission on the scheduled date at the specified time either in person or through his/her nominee, or if a seat is offered in the branch which may or may not be his/her first preference and he/she refuses to accept the same or he/she does not pay the fees on the day of admission, his/her name will be deleted and he/she will cease to be a candidate and henceforth will not have any subsequent claim to a seat in B.E. Programme.

In case the numbers of candidates present are more than the seats available a few may be offered admission against the possible future vacancies on submission of originals and payment of fees. The remaining present will be placed on the wait-list and if the vacancies persist the candidates next in the merit list will be informed individually by Registered Post.

Placement:

Currently we all know that the placement is bad. So in this college placement has become low and many were been placed in Off campus only. Placement is not upto the level guys.

HOSTEL:

This college is having nice hostel facilities, but i heard that food facilities is not good but even though these are the Hostel regulations which are given below:

Hostel facilities are provided with all the comforts specifically aimed at Middle income group family at an affordable cost and to make a comfortable stay.

The Management has Big plans for Hostel facilities. Presently the college has just completed 100 rooms accommodation for 200 students. On completion of the Hostel Project, it will accommodate 500 students with all full-fledged facilities. All in house facilities like Internet, Generator, Mess, Laundry and shopping stalls will be available in the Hostel Block. These facilities will be open for boys only and the same will be extended to the girls. Girls Hostel in will open during 2008.


Presently the occupants will be provided with the following services.

* Two persons will be accommodated in one room.
* Room will be furnished with Cot, cupboard, a Bookshelf, Table and chair.
* Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner with two times coffee/tea will be provided.
* Laundry facilities
* Common place for watching the TV Programmes
* Magazines and Daily Newspaper
* North & South Indian food will be provided.

Rules governing the Hostel:

Residence: All students except these admitted on non-residential basis will remain in Hostel for the full duration of all semesters unless they are withdrawn from the Hostel.

* No illegal drugs or firearms shall be stored and/or consumed in Premises and on campus in general. Liquor is also prohibited in the Hostel Premises.
* Students are not allowed to cook meals in their rooms.
* Visitors to Premises: Students are not allowed to entertain a member of the opposite sex in a hostel room, whether the visitor is from outside college or a member of the College.
* No visitors of any description are allowed to spend a night in student hostels except college official visitors and students from constituent colleges for whom prior permission form the Warden has been granted.
* Residence during vacation: Students are not allowed to stay in residence during vacations except those required, as part of the academic program, to carry or take part in specific tasks approved first by he relevant Head of Department and the Principal. Those students allowed to remain in residence are required to pay for board and lodging and to observe the same rules as during semester time.
* Food & Cafeteria Services: Food, crockery, glasses, cutlery, etc., belonging to College should not be taken out of the dining hall except where prior permission has been obtained.
* No student other than members of the catering committee should enter the kitchen.
* No student is allowed to bring any kind of liquor into the dining hall or smoke in the dining hall.
* Catering staff will be responsible for taking food to sick students who are bed ridden.
* Meals for Visitors: The caterer will not provide meals to student's visitor, unless prior booking for a meal has been made. Booking should be made in writing to the Caterer at least six hours before the mealtime.
* Any student who books a meal will be charged for it even if the visitor fails to turn up for the meal.
* For all the Inmates study time morning & evening will be strictly maintained.
* Electric kettles, heaters, irons or any other appliances should not be used in the rooms.
* Hostellers are not allowed to keep large amount of cash or valuables in their possession (rings/costly watches/jewellery, mobile phones etc.) Any violators will be doing at their own risk.
* If a student does not report back to the hostel within 3 days, his/her name will be struck off the rolls.
* Hostellers will not be permitted to keep eatables in their rooms.
* Hostellers will be issued notices and circulars, informing them about new rules and regulations, which must be adhered to.
